Culture shifts in Tokyo, Japan

A young lady dresses up in traditional attire before visiting a temple in Kyoto
Japan has an amazing mix of the old and the new. Walking around Tokyo, I was constantly reminded of this modern and rapidly growing country still values it's past. During my visits to the temples in the city of Tokyo, I saw a large number of ladies dressed in traditional clothes. At first I assumed that these ladies were tourists who were keen to look 'kawaii' but soon realised that a large number of local women we also doing the same.
I do have to admit though - I cannot imagine how these women are able to walk around in these clothes while also holding on to phones, cameras and bags (and sometimes, kids.)
