A cloudy sunset at Johor, Malaysia

Watching the sun go down at Chia Soon Kelong at Johor, Malaysia
I've never been fishing, and was mildly curious. So when a friend asked if I wanted to join a fishing/chilling/eating trip to nearby Johor (Malaysia), I agreed immediately. My visions of being on a boat bobbing in the water and me holding a fishing rod were shattered when I saw that we were to be on a 'kelong', which is basically a house on stilts in the sea. It had the bare-minimum facilities, and upon dumping our stuff, most people straightaway sorted out their fishing rods and accessories and headed out in the hot sun to try and catch dinner. Someone I barely knew lent me a fishing rod and taught me the absolute basics of fishing. Needless to say, I failed miserably, but I did succeed in making a few more friends through the day. Dinner was a seafood buffet, and we spent the evening watching the sun go down, with chilled beers in hand.
For those curious, this place is called 'Chia Soon Kelong' and to get there, you need to get a boat from Changi, clear a tiny immigration checkpoint at Johor, and it takes a couple hours in all to get there.
