| Sunsets are a jolly affair at Phromthep Cape in Phuket, Thailand |
Phromthep Cape is at the south of Phuket island, practically the tip. The area is slightly elevated, on top of one of the small hills dotting the coast. It is also a popular place to watch the sunset; you can find yourself a nice spot on the side of the hill and watch the sun go down into the sea. There is also a second location quite near this popular spot - on an adjacent hill, called Windmill Viewpoint. It is less crowded, probably because not many tourists know it exists.
It is common to see large crowds thronging the hill just before sunset, foreigners and locals alike. And just as soon as the sun sets, the crowds disappear, leaving you a calm, serene place to brood for a while.
